Emmaus Stories #8

Our final Emmaus Story for 2023 features Allan Briggs from Birdlife Capricornia, who shares how the proceeds from our Bake Sale help fund monitoring efforts for the endangered shorebirds that visit the Capricorn Coast each year. We also had a chance to sit down with Sister Cecilia to discuss the wonderful wildlife in Australia and how we can express gratitude for God’s creation through photography.

We also chat with Year 11 Student Zarah, about her one-of-a-kind experience with the SPARQ-ed program. In episode 5, we talked to a few Senior Students who went on the 2023 Ski Trip and what their highlights were. We also interviewed two judges of the Sacred Art Competition and how the art reflected this year’s theme of ‘Walk With Us’. Lastly, we spoke to the Emmaus Rowing Team on the recent Queensland State Championships.

In this week’s episode, we caught up with a few students after their Girls Football Grand Final win! We also see a sneak peak of our recent Take The Stage Drama Festival.

In episode 3, we listen to Mr Fatnowna, one of our Teaching Assistants, who is from South Sea Islander heritage sharing his story. We also hear from Mrs Toman, Assistant Principal Mission who talks about our weekly mass and how this is an opportunity for our school community to come together to pray and celebrate together.
